Sorry!

This section is still under construction and is incomplete. In the meantime, here is a link to a conference paper (.pdf) presented to the AAAI (Fall 2005).

We conducted two experiments where subjects a) had to catch a ball that they threw to themselves (by bouncing it against a wall) or b) they caught it after another subject had thrown it to them. We were interested in predictive eye movments that accompanied ball bouncing and catching, and whether these changed if the subjects had to throw and catch it themselves. To make predictive eye movements, some form of internal representation of the ball's dynamic properties would seem to be necessary.

The button on the left called " slow catch" will take you to a video ( in slow motion) of the one of the subjects bouncing a ball off the wall. There is also a link to another video of a second subject performing the same task on my home page somewhere. That one is at normal speed.
